Project Manager – Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC)
Our client are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to join their Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) department. This role will oversee the successful planning, execution, and completion of commercial solar projects, ensuring quality, safety, and on-time delivery.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both project management and electrical engineering, with the ability to manage projects remotely and willingness to travel up to 50% of the time.
📍 Location: Remote with up to 50% travel to US
⏰ Working hours: (US East Coast hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM) / SA hours (2:00PM – 11 PM)
💰 Salary: R40 000 – R50 000

Key Responsibilities
Manage all phases of solar PV projects – from planning and design through construction to final delivery.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, procurement, and field crews to meet milestones.
Lead project scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation for optimal performance and cost-efficiency.
Conduct site assessments and ensure compliance with electrical and safety standards.
Communicate effectively with stakeholders including clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Ensure proper documentation, permits, and adherence to industry and company standards.
Travel to project sites for supervision, inspections, and client meetings (up to 50%).
Resolve technical or operational challenges during execution.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
Minimum of 5 years of project management experience, preferably in solar or renewable energy.
Strong understanding of electrical engineering principles and PV system design.
Proven experience managing large-scale commercial solar projects (rooftop and ground-mount) remotely.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Experience working remotely with dispersed teams.
Proficiency in project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
Ability to work under pressure, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines.
Willingness to travel 50% of the time across the U.S.
PMP certification is a plus.

Hoofverantwoordelikhede
Bestuur alle fases van sonkrag PV-projekte – vanaf beplanning en ontwerp tot konstruksie en finale aflewering.
Koördineer met kruisfunksionele spanne insluitend ingenieurs, verkryging en veldspanne om mylpale te bereik.
Lei projekbeplanning, begroting en hulpbron-toewysing vir optimale prestasie en kostedoeltreffendheid.
Voer terreinassesserings uit en verseker voldoening aan elektriese en veiligheidsregulasies.
Kommunikeer effektief met belanghebbendes soos kliënte, kontrakteurs en interne spanne.
Verseker behoorlike dokumentasie, permitte en nakoming van industrie- en maatskappy-standaarde.
Reis na projeklokasies vir toesig, inspeksies en kliëntvergaderings (tot 50%).
Los tegniese of operasionele uitdagings op gedurende die uitvoering van projekte.
Vereistes
Baccalaureusgraad in Elektriese Ingenieurswese, Konstruksiebestuur of ’n verwante veld.
Minimum van 5 jaar ondervinding in projekbestuur, verkieslik in die sonkrag- of hernubare energie sektor.
Sterk begrip van elektriese ingenieursbeginsels en PV-stelselontwerp.
Bewese ondervinding in die bestuur van grootskaalse kommersiële sonkragprojekte (dak- en grondmontering) afstandwerk.
Uitstekende organisatoriese, kommunikasie- en leierskapsvaardighede.
Ervaring in afstandswerk met verspreide spanne.
Vaardigheid in projekbestuursagteware (bv. MS Project, Primavera).
Vermoë om onder druk te werk, meerdere projekte gelyktydig te bestuur en sperdatums te haal.
Bereidwilligheid om 50% van die tyd deur die VSA te reis.
PMP-sertifisering is ’n voordeel.
